Day 15: Linking to your Artifacts
You've completed all major assignments for EDIT 2000 -- now you just need to put it all into a format that the world can see. You'll also reflect on what you've learned this semester.
Today you will export both of your Fireworks files and insert them into your Dreamweaver pages. You'll also link to assignments that have been completed since we last worked on your webpages. Remember, assignments must be saved to your portfolio folder BEFORE you link to them.
-----------------------------------------
You will need to type a short response to each of the following questions for a Final Reaction to the WebQuest project. Please send your responses in the body of an email (not as an attachment): gbthomas@uga.edu by the beginning of class Friday, July 1.
In this statement, you need to reflect upon what you have learned in WebQuest design, to show knowledge of teaching with problem solving, and to propose strategies for integrating your WebQuest into your teaching. Please use specific examples to support your statements: from readings, class discussions, and your final WebQuest product. Answers to all of the questions -- in paragraph format -- in the order in which they are asked. Please do NOT use the word "fun" or any of its synonyms which are not the goal of WebQuests.
1. What are the characteristics of WebQuests, such as learning goals, underlying learning theories, etc.? Imagine you are explaining WebQuests to other teachers who never heard of WebQuest before. How would you describe it to them?
2.What do you like or dislike about WebQuests in terms of your teaching and students’ learning?
3. How would you use your WebQuest in your teaching to promote your students’ problem solving?
4. If you chose not to use a WebQuest, how would you design and implement a learning activity/lesson that engages your students in problem solving activities?
----------------------------------------
In addition, you will need to complete the reflection for our course. See the project page for more information. This is due at the beginning of class on Friday. I will not accept email attachments of this assignment.
Things you should be working on:
1. Finish all content for webpages, linking to all artifacts, inserting of all images before Thursday's class -- if at all possible.
2. Complete your WebQuest student and teacher pages and make sure they are linked to your webquest.htm page in your portfolio. The WebQuest pages are due Thursday at the beginning of class.
3. Email your responses to the WebQuest Final Reaction Questions before the beginning of class Friday.
3. The final reflection is due at the beginning of class Friday, July 1.
